Fitting irregular shape in irregular shape
This is my first post on stackoverflow and my english isn´t that well. So pls dont be too strict with me. :) Im search for an algorithm where i can check if my shape1 fits in my shape2. My first researchs brought me to "Packing irregular shapes". This is in my opinion a litte bit overkill. I only have one container an one objekt. Shape 1 is normaly a convex polygon. Shape 2 can be convex, or concav. My application: I have 3d laser scanner, to messure log´s.->Shape 2 Also i have diffrent cutting-profiles which have a convex-hull ->Shape 1 Now i want to check which cutting profile fits in my laser-profile.
